MLS Experience

2005: Spent his first full season on the Wizards developmental squad and earned playing time with the senior team, primarily as a late-game defensive substitute ... Made 11 appearances, including three starts and registered one assist ... Made his MLS debut, coming on to play the final 10 minutes @ CLB (5/14) ... Took his first career shot vs. CHV (6/25) and nearly scored in the 88th minute ... Made his first career MLS start, playing the first 79 minutes vs. RSL (7/16). His shot in the 8th minute deflected off the right post and back into play setting up Scott Sealy's goal ... Earned his second straight start vs. DC (7/20) ... Picked up first career MLS assist @ CHI (8/10), helping on Sasha Victorine's game-tying goal in the 43rd minute.

2004: Signed by the Wizards as a developmental player in June 2004, but remained on loan to Minnesota through September and joined the Wizards for the final month of the season.

Other Pro Experience

Drafted by the Minnesota Thunder in the first round of the A-League draft in December 2003 but remained enrolled at Yale until graduating in May ... Upon graduating, Roberts was signed as a developmental player by the Wizards. The team loaned him to the A-League's Minnesota Thunder, where he spent all of their 2004 season. With the Thunder, he appeared in 16 games, playing 1172 minutes from a fullback position,  and recorded one assist.

College

Roberts was a standout defender at Yale University where he was a four-time All-Ivy selection. He started every game during his four-year career and captained the Bulldogs his senior year ... Earned All-New England honors during his senior season and All-New England Third Team honors during junior season ... Named to All-Ivy First Team during senior season, All-Ivy Second Team junior and sophomore season and was an All-Ivy Honorable Mention during freshman season.

High School/Club

In the summer of 2002, his club team reached the finals of the under-19 national championship. At Damien High School, Roberts was a two-time All-CIF and All-Sierra selection and was the Inland Valley MVP as a senior. In addition, he was a member of the Cal South ODP team and the Santa Anita Breakaway club team.

Personal

Majored in Psychology at Yale ... Following the 2006 season, Roberts retired as a player and joined the Wizards front office as an executive for youth sales.
