One aspect of our
game we need to constantly work on is our basic
ball handling skills.
Unlike young players
in many other other countries who grow up
playing soccer as their major pastime most of us
only touch a ball at organized practices and
games.
We miss the countless hours of
"touches" these other kids have to develop their
skills and experiment with new moves
Check
the moves of this 6 year old and you
will see everyone on our teams has a long way to
go.
If you are serious about
improving your game spend time at home in your
back yard working on your ball handling skills,
juggling, changing direction, and deceptive
moves you can use to confuse your opponents.
This is not something you must
spend hours each day doing... 5-10 minutes a
day of solid activity will make a huge
difference over a season.
You will be amazed how
improving your skills will impact your
confidence and make you a better player. |
