Tournament Results & Comments From College Coaches

Game 1 Sat 9:48am BV Predators  3 vs Excalibur 4

This game got away from us. We were sluggish to start and took a while to hit our stride, falling behind 0-2 in the first ten minutes.

Danny made formation adjustments which helped settle us down and our game picked up.

The longer the game went the better we played. We should have won this game. We had many more shots on goal than Excalibur but could not find the net.

Good effort after a slow start.

Game 2 Sat 3:24pm Viva 6 vs BV Predators 2

Viva is a top team from Nebraska. We played these guys two years ago in Omaha and won comfortably.

This time they were greatly improved and came out with something to prove.

They moved the ball well early on, kept us unsettled, and jumped to an early lead.

By the time we gained composure and settled into our game we were down 0-2.

We fought back to close the gap to 2-3 and looked set to make a real game of it before fatigue set in and Viva added to their lead.

Although we were clearly outplayed early in this game our effort was a huge improvement over game 1.

Players showed great heart in fighting back under real pressure.

Putting Our Effort Into Perspective: Viva went on to win our division.

Then they won the tournament final beating Chicago Blast 3-0.

Game 3 Sun 7:12am Claymores 3 vs BV Predators 4

Once again we got off to a slow start and fell behind 0-2 early.

When we settled down and played position we looked much better and fought our way back into the game.

Our defense was solid, especially later in the game when a penalty left us down a man for 2 minutes.

Better conditioning and "the will to win" made the difference and we finished the tournament with a win.

Great effort.. excellent way to finish the tournament.... and super to see everyone get pumped up when you could sense victory.

College Coaches Said....

Game 1

... I was really impressed how your team fought back after falling behind 0-2 in the first 10 minutes. Most teams would have packed it in. That showed a lot of character. We look for players who can hold composure under pressure.

..... What a bounce back. Your boys should have won that game. Players adjusted well to configuration changes that made all the difference after being down early. You have some great players we will want to talk to.

Game 2

..... Your boys know how to fight. That was a great game against a talented team.

.... We learn more about most players when they lose than win easily. I was very impressed with the talent level and composure your boys displayed.

.... nearly pulled off a great comeback when they pulled within a goal. I hope to hear from your boys.

..... Please have the boys interested in Colorado colleges contact me.

..... if you send me your Spring schedule I will make sure to watch a game or two.

Game 3

..... Sorry I could not make it. I will check the boys out back in KC.

..... Good win. I was pleased to see the enthusiasm your team showed.

.... Marked improvement from first game to final game. Lots of potential on this team.
