Helping In Kenya
Back in the Summer the Predators families
gathered several large boxes of soccer gear and clothing for
college student TJ Widbin to take to orphanages in Kenya
where he had organized soccer clinics as part of his
missionary work.
It's great to see our gifts were appreciated
and had a positive impact on these young guys.
A special "Thank You" to everyone who
contributed and to TJ for organizing everything.
A Note From TJ Widbin
in Kenya
Your gifts are really
appreciated....
From
TJs Blog: On the soccer note things are going
great. The only problem is that they are Kenyan, and let's
be honest they can run for days if the daylight allowed them
to. And well I am an out of shape American. So basically the
games consist of me being a goalie, but hey that's fine with
me. We have done a little bit of "teaching" but there really
isn't any point because everyone here knows soccer like the
back of their hand. They just want to play. So basically we
have just had pick up games with the kids. Which is still a
lot of fun. Amazing how happy you can make a bunch of kids
by just giving them a ball to play with. Thanks a lot Mark,
Bob and The Predators, and the Wizards for all the
equipment!

The crowds at games are a
little larger than we get:
An email to us:
We just held a game at school and we gave away the two sets
of jerseys that you got. The school that used them didn't
have any jerseys before and oddly enough their school colors
are yellow and blue. So thank you so much! Anyway the game
was crazy! The principal had told me on the phone that the
kids were excited but I had no idea.
There were about 1,000 kids there to
watch. So the whole field was just lined with
kids. It was awesome to see! The players loved the jerseys
and the game went great! We are also donating some jerseys
to a rehabilitation school here that doesn't have any
jerseys so they will work great there! Thank you so much for
everything that you did to make this trip as awesome as it
has been! When I get back I will be sure to send you all the
pictures and videos so you can show your team how much help
they were. Thanks again and god bless! TJ

The boys look great in the
two new sets of jerseys we sent.

At last. They
can throw that old "practice ball" away.
